Pictures from Home 1899 – 1924

Consisting of the very first images created by Lora Webb Nichols to the work she created in her home-based photography business, the images in this section include portraits, landscapes and domestic scenes.

The images document the workers and structures of the mining community, the arrival of the train line into Encampment, and evidence of the flu epidemic of 1919.

Additionally, this section provides examples of Lora Webb Nichols refined approach to portraiture and attention to subtle and tender details of day-to-day life.
